I Never Really Introduced My Books… Until Now
There are moments in business when you realize the thing holding you back isn’t your product.
It’s you.
Not because you aren’t capable.
Not because your work isn’t good.
But because somewhere along the way, you got shy.
That’s what happened to me.
I wrote Shedding in 2021.
I wrote Flowers Are from God in 2023.
I published them.
People bought them.
In fact, I’ve sold out of them more than once.
And somehow…
I still never really introduced them.
I never sat down and told people why I wrote them.
Who they were for.
How they relate to one another.
I just quietly made them available and hoped they would find the people they were meant for.
Sometimes they did.
But I’ve realized something lately.
There’s a difference between making something available and inviting people into it.
My Books Found Readers Anyway
I’m incredibly grateful that these books have found homes.
Every order still surprises me.
Every message from a reader reminds me that words really do travel farther than we think.
But I also realized I wasn’t giving my books the chance they deserved.
Not because they weren’t good enough.
Because I wasn’t talking about them.
Sharing Isn’t Showing Off
For a long time, I think I confused marketing with bragging.
I thought talking about my work meant making everything about me.
Now I see it differently.
When we create something that can help someone…
sharing it is part of the work.
Someone can’t read a book they never knew existed.
Someone can’t be encouraged by words they’ve never been invited to read.
Marketing isn’t always about selling.
Sometimes it’s simply saying,
“Hi… I made this.”
These Two Books Were Always Meant to Meet
When I wrote Shedding, I was learning how to release what no longer belonged to me.
When I wrote Flowers Are from God, I was learning how to slow down, pray, notice beauty, and rest.
At the time, I thought they were completely different books.
Now I realize they were two conversations in the same healing journey.
One helps you let go.
The other reminds you what you’re growing toward.
I’m Done Hiding My Work
I have more books waiting to be released.
For a long time, I held onto them as if they would somehow be safer sitting on my shelf.
But books aren’t written to stay stacked in my apartment.
They’re written to be held.
Highlighted.
Gifted.
Carried.
Shared.
So…
Hi.
I’m Courtney.
And I’d like to properly introduce you to my books.
🤎
